Our Story
Shampooch Dog Spa was born out of a very simple idea - provide the highest level of grooms to our four-legged companions. Since 2014, we’ve been proudly supporting our pet parents throughout the Monmouth area.
Motivated by a passion for animals and deep understanding of quality pet care, we continue to serve a growing client base and expand our service offerings to meet their needs. When you and your furry friend come to Shampooch Dog Spa, you become part of our family.
Terms of Services - Grooming
Late drop-off
We can only accept dogs up to 5 minutes late for their appointment. Later than this is up to the senior member of staff in the salon to see if it will still be doable with the day’s bookings. Failure to arrive at your booking on time will result in a no-show fee (detailed further down)

Late collection
Our late collection fee is £5 per 30-minute period after the scheduled collection time. The first 30 mins are not chargeable. This is billed for every 30-minute period you enter.
Examples:
40 minutes late - £5 charge
1hr 1 minute - £10 Charge

No-show/Cancellation
If you need to cancel your appointment, you are required to do this sooner than 24 hours before the appointment. This can be done either by messaging us on Facebook or calling the salon it is booked for. If this is outside of opening hours, we will accept answer phone messages left more than 24 hours before.
Failure to comply with our cancellation policy will mean you will be required to pay the full balance of the groom. We will not provide any services until this has been paid, nor will any future bookings be made.
Multiple short-notice cancellations may lead to you being blacklisted from our salons. This is done at the salon’s discretion.

Limitation of services
Where possible we will provide the service to the best of our abilities. There are times however when factors mean we will not be able to complete the service. Dogs who are sick, aggressive, unstable, or show symptoms of illness will not be taken in for their appointments or will be asked to be collected from the salon as soon as reasonably possible. For dogs who are unable to stand for their appointment, we will try our best to work around this but will not cause any unnecessary stress for the dog.
There is a number of conditions that may make the grooming process more difficult or stressful for a dog and in these cases, we will try our best to work with your dog, you must make staff aware of any existing conditions when booking or dropping off.
If we are unable to complete the groom the full amount for what is booked will still be charged as standard. Senior staff may reduce the fee at their discretion.

Fleas
If your dog arrives in the salon and upon inspection has evidence of fleas or evidence of fleas being on them there will be a £10 charge for flea-type shampoo as well as this covering additional costs of defleaing the salon.

Matting of coats
A matting charge may be applied to your bill if your dog’s coat is beyond what we deem a reasonable amount of matting. Severe matting causes more wear and tear on our equipment as well as needing more time to be dealt with. This charge will vary depending on the size of your dog as well as the severity of the matting.

Payment
The balance must be settled at the point of collection of the dog from the premises, by cash or bank card for the full amount. Cheques and bank transfers will not be accepted as standard, but it may be possible to make reasonable accommodations for this.

Staying with your pet
While we try our best to make accommodations for owners as standard, we do not allow owners into the grooming rooms. This can lead to stress for your own pet as well as others as we try to minimise the number of people and stimulants for dogs during the process.
In special cases, we may allow owners to stay but this must be agreed in advance.
